You don’t have to spend a lot of money to enjoy rich red wines but you do need to pay attention to a few details:  

• Elevated alcohol: Alcohol adds intensity to the flavor, check if the wine is at or above 14% ABV.
• Hot climate: It’s possible to make rich red wines in cool climates, but the boldest wines come from hot places. 
• Turn up the blends: We all know Cabernet Sauvignon is bold, but adding a touch of Syrah or Malbec really bumps up the volume.
